Who's the Deepest?

Depth is a good metric of a team's potential for future success and ability to recover from injury or unforeseen mid-race trouble. With about half of section data in, this post aims to answer the question "who's the deepest?"

Scoring more than four skiers at the State Meet is a long time Highland Park fantasy. What might happen if all seven skiers scored?

MEN'S TEAM: 7 Scorers 1. Forest Lake High School: 3280 2. Stillwater: 3138 3. Wayzata High School: 3066 4. Robbinsdale Armstrong High School: 3038 5. St. Paul Highland Park: 2937 6. Southwest: 2669 7. Mora High School: 2586 8. Champlin Park High School: 2517 9. Little Falls High School: 2508 10. Grand Rapids High School: 2398

WOMEN'S TEAM: 7 Scorers 1. Robbinsdale Armstrong High School: 3096 2. Stillwater: 3092 3. Forest Lake High School: 2983 4. Andover H.S.: 2961 5. St. Paul Highland Park: 2929 6. Duluth East High School: 2881 7. Edina High School: 2788 8. Wayzata High School: 2783 9. Ely: 2733 10. Southwest: 2525

On the boy's side, Champlin Park makes a massive seven place jump in a seven-scorer scenario, followed by Highland's respectable four place gain. Robbinsdale Armstrong moves up three places, and Forest Lake and Stillwater upset Wayzata. The girls have less movement, but Edina makes a three place jump.

As it stands now, the algorithm has Forest Lake boys and Armstrong girls as the state's best seven-skier squads.
